During October and November we've been spending about every other weekend on the boat. Friends have been eager to join in the fun and it has been a blast to have them along. We've been lucky with some great weekend weather, and had a fantastic sail on Veteran's Day weekend, with balmy mid-70's weather and winds in the 10-18 kt range. We grilled burgers as we cruised up and down the Potomac. Steve, Andrea, Paul, and even a new friend we invited along, Walter, joined us for the outing. What a blast!

Maiden Voyage
The sale process went amazingly fast, and before we knew it we were looking for a place to put our new pride and joy. We took a trip down to Colonial Beach Yacht Center, and like the quiant surroundings. Despite a spate of bad luck at the marina in recent years from fire and hurricane damage, we decided it was a good place to put Synchronicity. So off we went, motoring on a glorious day from Dennis Point Marina in Drayden, MD, to Colonial Beach, VA. It's about 30 miles upriver, or a good 4+ hours at a reasonable but not frantic pace. Tom, our great and helpful broker from Noyce Yachts, made us do everything but raise the stars and stripes (see pic), and it helped our confidence handling the boat and our sense of well-being knowing he was along with us. We arrived at CBYC in time to enjoy a toast, take a few photos of our new baby and head to the Dockside for a fantastic seafood dinner.

Here we go!
It's pretty early on.... we don't even own her yet. But I thought I'd try my hand at creating a blog for our new pride and joy, Synchronicity. She's a beauty, a 2005 Manta Mark II sailing catamaran. She looks and even smells like new. I wonder how the previous owner kept her so pristine? Can't wait to learn all about her and let the adventure begin!
